Is this trip right for you?

This trip involves travel on public transport, covering long distances and consequently some long days of travel. Long-distance and overnight trains can often be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog between December and February. Some patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment here. Sit back, relax and watch the scenery go by – a book or podcast doesn’t go astray.

We do our best to estimate travel times, but these can often change. That's just how it is in these parts and as a result, there's not as much free or independent time as on some other trips.

Nepal and north India can get surprisingly cold in winter, please be prepared and pack accordingly. Speaking of the weather, it also has the potential to be very hot, depending on the season. Please make sure you check seasonal weather guides and pick a travel time that suits your comfort level.

We've sourced our accommodation carefully and picked the best possible hotels in line with the Tuuur style of travel. Service and accommodation in India may be different from Western standards.

What an incredible, life changing trip! The experience is hard to put into words so I'll just say if you're considering it, go for it and be ready and open for all the amazing gifts India and Nepal have to offer. And consider yourself lucky if wonderful Anant is your guide.

From chaotic cities to canoeing with crocodiles, and from monuments to mountains, this is a very memorable trip offering a wonderful range of sights, activities and modes of transport which it would not be possible to experience in such a short space of time if travelling independently. But there's a lot of distance to cover and be prepared for hours of bone-shaking roads in Nepal! Special thanks to our wonderful tour leader Vijay - the very best leader I have ever had on a trip with any company - who made the trip especially enjoyable!

As a senior going to India & Nepal on my own was a bit scary but this Intrepid tour made it easy for me to travel alone. A wonderful group of people and I am sure I will be in touch with some for a very long time

This trip is not for the faint hearted. Be prepared for the noise, smells and sights but a truly fascinating experience which has been nothing short of amazing. A great way to see a snapshot of both India and Nepal. Abhi, our guide was outstanding.

These two weeks were amazing. As a French girl solo traveller I didn’t think I could explore India on my own, and it’s been so great to travel with Abhi (our team leader) and the team. Our itinerary covered the main touristy places (old delhi, Taj Mahal and Varanasi), but also places of the beaten track (which happened to be my favourite places). I learnt a lot, always felt safe and taken care of. But also really had fun. The trip was a right combinaison of rest and discoveries (and I like to do a lot). Entering Nepal and discovering more about Buddhism, but also seeing animals in the wild jungle were awesome. Couldn’t recommend enough (with a bit of extra time on your own in Delhi and Kathmandu, beginning and ending of the trip)!

India and Nepal are amazing countries, and this tour shows you the highlights! Thanks to Dinesh and Gajraj for all your professionalism and effort! Also, totally recommend adding an EBC trek to this itinerary once you finish in Kathmandu! You won't be disappointed.
