Experience the beauty of the Annapurna region on the five-day Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. Learn about the lives of your all-female trekking crew, stay in traditional teahouses and see some of Nepal’s tallest peaks.
verified
Spend two days in Chitwan National Park, where you’ll enjoy sunset drinks, a canoe ride and a game drive to spot the resident wildlife before falling asleep to the sounds of nature in your jungle lodge.
verified
Visit an NGO working to abolish menstrual stigma and chhaupadi – the illegal but socially common practice of banishing women and girls to makeshift huts during their period.
verified
Learn how to cook traditional Nepali dishes at a social enterprise that has changed the lives of disadvantaged women, then learn the secrets of creating the perfect momo at a cooking class in a Tibetan refugee camp.
verified

Is this trip right for you?
verified
You’ll need a high level of fitness for the trekking portion of this trip, as you'll be walking between five to seven hours a day. You’ll ascend and descend uneven stone steps for much of the trek, so it’s recommended you use hiking poles (which you can hire or purchase in Nepal).
verified
While you’re trekking, you’ll be provided with a duffel bag that a female porter will carry. Your porter can carry up to 8 kg per traveller, and any other luggage can be left in Pokhara to collect at the end of the trek.
verified
The reality of road travel in Nepal is that things always take longer than you expect. Some roads will be bumpy, dusty or even unexpectedly blocked, which requires the occasional detour and plenty of patience – but that’s all part of the adventure. To make the most of your time in Nepal, you’ll also take a domestic flight from Nepal to Pokhara.
verified
Accommodation in some destinations may vary in standard and facilities, and hot water may be limited. In more remote parts of Nepal, eating at the hotel restaurant may be practical rather than heading out for optional meals.

While Tuuur would love to open these unique experiences to all our travellers regardless of gender, it’s simply not yet possible to do so while operating in a socially responsible and culturally sensitive manner. If you want to travel to Nepal on a similar itinerary, check out some other itineraries or consider booking a private group tour.
Itinerary
Experience the beauty and culture of Nepal from the local women’s perspective
With plenty of cultural experiences and a five-day trek with an all-female crew of mountain guides and porters, this 13-day Women's Expedition gives you a unique insight into the lives of Nepali women. Travel with a female leader and meet a range of female trailblazers along the way – from chefs at a social enterprise to a women-led NGO on a mission to end period stigma. Meet Buddhist nuns as you get an inside look at an all-female nunnery, make momos with a local woman at a Tibetan refugee camp and treat yourself to a traditional Newari pedicure in Kathmandu. Listen to personal stories, connect with like-minded travellers and be inspired on an adventure that puts women front and centre.

I loved this women’s exhibition trip in Nepal. The highlight was the all female hiking team. The porters were so helpful and friendly and our assistant guides Ritu and Soni were amazing. But the star of the tour was our tour guide Alina who was just outstanding in her leadership and who was an incredible trip leader.

The tour was very well organized, and the itinerary was thoughtfully chosen. The tour leadership by Parbati was excellent – her love for the mountains and her passion for her work were truly inspiring. Many thanks also to all the amazing women (the porters, assistant tour leader, city guide, etc.) who enriched this journey. Altogether, it was a wonderful experience with a great group of people.
