Take your taste buds on a trip from the market stalls of Lima to a traditional Andean lunch in the Sacred Valley.
See some unbeatable views of the Andes as you travel towards Machu Picchu on a 360 train, offering high domed windows and an open-air observation carriage to immerse yourself in the incredible landscape.
Visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu, on not one but two visits in the afternoon and the early morning, to see all that you can at this incredible feat of Inca engineering!

Is this trip right for you?
This trip spends time at altitude; you should refer to the Medical & Health Information for this trip to understand the risks.
This trip visits Peru's coast, mountains and the Amazon Jungle, which means you'll need a flexible wardrobe no matter what time of year you travel. Please review the 'Climate and seasonal information' and 'Packing' sections of the Essential Trip Information.
Visitors are not permitted to explore Machu Picchu without a Machu Picchu guide (not our trip leaders) and must follow set routes within the site. This trip includes two guided visits of Machu Picchu and each visit is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours long. Your leader will provide more information to ensure you get the most out of your visits to this incredible site.
According to Machu Picchu visiting regulations all visitors to Machu Picchu must follow a pre-determined circuit within the site as a way to relieve crowding. The circuit-based entrance tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. We will do all that is possible to get everyone traveling in a group on the same route, but be aware that it is possible that members of the same group might be visiting Machu Picchu on a different circuit and not be together during this visit. Once the guided visit concludes, visitors must exit the site and personal exploration of Machu Picchu is not permitted.

I opted for this particular Peru trip since it included two opportunities to visit Machu Picchu, as well as two nights in the Amazon Jungle. Although it took me a couple of days to fully acclimatize in Cusco, I did so and was in good shape to enjoy the Sacred Valley and walk the one-day Inca Trail. It was worth every step! Thanks for another great trip, Intrepid, and to Bobby our wonderful trip guide. He was the best!

My husband and I are in our 70's. We are reasonably active and fit but not crazy fit. We coped with this trip well and loved being a part of the Intrepid trip to Peru. The mix of ages was fun and we loved the cultural perspectives on this tour..

Just wow. It’s true, There is so much more to Peru than just Machu Picchu. An amazing adventure with an Amazon jungle stay, the wonderful city of Cusco, the Sacred Valley and the chance to interact with a local community and experience their traditional ways and all capped off with the amazing Machu Picchu. Our fabulous tour guide Desi made it all come alive for us. Our small group became more like a family over our nine days. An experience to remember always.
