Trip Informations
Encounter a country that radiates warmth – from its glorious sunshine to its spice-laden cuisine and kind local people. This nine-day Premium adventure through Sri Lanka will introduce you to the country’s wealth of cultural riches as you explore the ancient ruins of past civilisations, spot rare and beautiful creatures in their natural habitats and relax among swathes of green tea fields at a hilltop retreat. Receive a warm welcome from the locals as you meet local guides, tuck into homecooked food, stay in an 1891 Feature Stay and uncover the secrets of Sigiriya – Sri Lanka’s famed UNESCO World Heritage site. Discover a shining gem in the Indian ocean – the teardrop isle.
Why you’ll love this trip
Learn about the country’s past during your Feature Stay at the gorgeous Grand Hotel in Nuwara Eliya – established in 1891, this traditional-style hotel has a modern outlook on sustainable practices.
Discover the beauty and mastery of Sri Lanka’s craft traditions and try them for yourself – from brass making and pottery to woodwork and ancient palm leaf writing.
Get an exclusive and immersive look at rural life in Ambagasthenna, where you’ll walk through tea plantations and paddy fields and learn about sustainable farming with a local guide.
Spot elephants, monkeys and tropical birds on a safari through the wild grasslands of Minneriya National Park.
Uncover ancient treasures in Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle as you explore the temples, ruins and stupas of Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Kandy with the expert guidance of your local leader.
Is this trip right for you?
The Rock Fortress – or Lion Rock – of Sigiriya is spectacular. However, those with a fear of (or even an aversion to) heights may wish to sit the excursion out. Scaling the rock involves walking up lots of rough, narrow steps and tight walkways.
There are a couple of long travel days on this trip. Journeys may take up to five hours but are a great opportunity to get to know locals, fellow travellers and the diverse scenery.
Some temples on this trip require your head to be uncovered when visiting. You can opt out of temple visits if this requirement doesn't suit you.

We thoroughly enjoyed the premium tour of Sri Lanka with Ahmed as our tour leader . His in-depth knowledge of all aspects of his country was truly amazing and together with his passion made a memorable trip for us of this beautiful country. Thanuka, our driver never gave us a nervous minute with his excellent driving on challenging roads and Nalaka - assistant extraordinaire , helped make our travels comfortable & seamless , always with a friendly smile & greeting. A lot of ground to cover in a short time but well worth it, highly recommend, you won’t regret!

The most knowledgeable, personable, friendly and helpful guide. Ahmed 10 out of 10. Sri Lanka is the most beautiful and unspoilt country that I have visited. Mostly organic and not tainted by mass tourism . Closest place to paradise that I’ve been. Always felt very safe too. Go to Sri Lanka , you won’t regret it !

For my first tour holiday, I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction, or tour leader along with his team Dinesh and Chamella. An excellent trip that I am sad has come to an end
