2. Please note that the physical rating for this trip is set at 2. While this is correct for the overall trip, there are some components that are of a higher physical rating. Both the climb to the summit of Mt Vesuvius and the hike on the Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) require a certain amount of fitness. Please read the day-to-day itinerary carefully or speak to your leader for more details. Activities can be opted out of if you don't want to participate.
verified
3. You don't have a lot of time in Rome at the start of the trip, so if you're keen to explore this spectacular city in depth we recommend you arrive a day or two before the start of the trip, especially if you would like to see the Vatican Museum as it is closed most Sundays. Please check opening times here:

My Husband and I joined this tour after completing a 4 week UK trip and another Intrepid tour. Great itinerary with enough time in each location. We would suggest storing extra luggage if you can and have come with more as there is A LOT of walking and movement involved between locations which can be stressful.

My time with Intrepid was amazing especially because it was my first trip on my own without family and I thank intrepid for this because it has given me a lot more confidence.

I enjoy Intrepid trips. Since my husband & I are retired we tend to plan a three week vacation. Within the time we like to include an Intrepid trip. It’s fun to meet up with like travel minds of different ages & countries. We especially like the small groups & the leaders. They are very knowledgable even though most places you meet up with a tour guide. I am the planner in our marriage so for the Intrepid part of our three weeks I know that I turn off my planning mode.

The Amalfi Coast trip was fantastic! Great experiences and places to visit and explore. The Path of the Gods was a "must do" experience as was the ruins of Pompeii! A great trip with a great Group Leader. Small group tours are definitely the way to go! So many wonderful, fun and memorable moments. Thank you Riccardo and Intrepid.
