Trip Informations
Whether you’re looking for a physical challenge or a religious pilgrimage, walking the Camino de Santiago is sure to be a life-affirming and personally enriching adventure. Over seven days, undertake a journey along the final 100 km of Spain’s Camino de Santiago, travelling with a small group of likeminded travellers and a local leader to add a deeper layer to your discoveries. Follow in the footsteps of ancient pilgrims as you walk through beautiful Galician countryside, passing hamlets, roman ruins and stilted horreos. The feeling of arriving at the finishing point in Santiago de Compostela simply can’t be beat.
Why you’ll love this trip
Walk the final 100 km of the iconic Camino de Santiago with a local leader to provide historical context and add a deeper layer of understanding to your discoveries.
Uncover scenes of the real Galicia as you walk through traditional countryside, small hamlets, ancient bridges, roman ruins and beautifully preserved horreos on stilts.
Fuel your journey with unique Galician specialties, including traditional polbo a feira (octopus) in Melide and world-renowned cheese in Arzua.
Take a sip of Galicia’s Celtic history as your leader shows you how to make the traditional and mythical queimada drink – prepare for a fiery show!
Feel an unbeatable sense of accomplishment as you complete your journey in the fascinating ancient city of Santiago de Compostela and collect your Camino certificate.
Is this trip right for you?
This trip involves plenty of walking and is best suited to travellers with a good level of mobility. Good footwear is a must.
There will be some long walking days, and we recommend reading descriptions of all walks carefully. Your longest walking day is 29 km, but there will be the option to take a taxi to shorten the walking distance.
During your trip you will visit numerous religious sites. You will need to bring clothes that cover the shoulders and knees. A light scarf is a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot. Your leader will be able to advise when such clothing is necessary.
Your luggage will be transported between hotels, and you are only expected to carry essentials during the hike (water, sun protection, camera, etc.). For your main luggage, you are allowed one bag or suitcase with a maximum weight of 18 kg. No items should be strapped to your luggage, such as shoes, walking poles, etc. Transport of any extra luggage will incur a small fee, which will be charged at the Welcome Meeting.

I highly recommend Intrepid! The leaders are locals so you can get an authentic experience of the country you’re visiting. You also don’t have to worry about finding accommodations and organising the trip yourself. I had an amazing experience in the Camino and would certainly do it again!

An unforgettable journey! Walking the Camino de Santiago with Intrepid far exceeded all my expectations. Our guide, Cristina, was absolutely excellent—her expertise and support made the experience even more special. From the seamless luggage transfers to the great accommodation and delicious local food, every detail was well-handled. It was the perfect balance of a physical challenge and a cultural deep dive. Highly recommended!

The Camino was a life changing experience. Cristina was an amazing guide and a beautiful soul ! Even with my leg injury, there was nothing like walking through the Galician countryside and finally reaching the cathedral. You won’t regret it. There is truly something magical here. I recommend going guided hiking, as in my case, I was recommended the best physiotherapists and massage therapists, which I would not have known if I went completely solo. Many food spots were also off the charts! Make sure to train early and give yourself ample time to rest before your flight if you’re traveling far (as I got a my leg injury due to this). No hiking boots. Nice broken in trail runners with extra soles will do!

Wasn’t sure if walking in a group was going to be for me. Then I met Cristina and our group that first night and everything shifted. The connection felt instant, almost meant to be. The Camino has a way of putting the right people together. Burn Camino ✌🏻

I love travelling with Intrepid. It is like the trip you would arrange for yourself , but you have someone there to take care of the finer details. You meet like minded travellers and get an exceptional guide that provide you with experiences that you would never get travelling independently
